Dr. Xiwei Huang is currently a Professor at Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU), China. He obtained his B.Eng. degree in Information Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2015. During his doctoral studies, he was jointly attached to the Integrated Circuits and Systems Lab of the Institute of Microeconomics (IME), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, from February 2011 to January 2014. Furthermore, he was a Visiting Scholar sponsored by the China Scholarship Council to Prof. Joonyong Han's Micro/Nanofluidic BioMEMS Group at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from May 2019 to June 2020His research interests include biomedical circuits and systems, microfluidic biosensing microsystems, multimodal CMOS integrated sensing, medical artificial intelligence, and AI accelerator, etc.


In recent years, Dr. Huang has obtained research fundings from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the National Key Research and Development Project of China, the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China, the Public Welfare Technology Application Research Project of Zhejiang, and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Provincial Universities of Zhejiang, etc. He has more than 70 journal and 40 peer-reviewed conference publications, two monographs, two book chapters, three Chinese/English textbooks, and over 10 issued patents. He actively contributes to the academic community as a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Senior Member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology, and the Chinese Optical Engineering Society. He is a member of the IoT Committee of the China Institute of Communications, a corresponding member of the Youth Professional and Technical Group of the IoT Expert Committee of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and an Executive Director of the Hangzhou Artificial Intelligence Society. He serves as a Guest Editor for several SCI journals (e.g., IEEE J-BHI, Microchemical Journal, Biosensors, Sensors), member of the Advisory Board for Microchemical Journal, and Topic Editor for Biosensors. And he has organized and served on the Technical Program Committee (TPC) for international conferences such as IEEE ICTA'18/20-25, ICBIPM'18. 


His contributions have been recognized through awards including the Provincial Young and Middle-aged Academic Leader Award, Qianjiang Talent project award of Zhejiang province, and Talent Cultivation project award of Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology. He also received the First Prize for Science and Technology Progress from the Chinese Optical Engineering Society in 2025 (as the second contributor).
