Xiao Xu, Ph.D.
 Associate Research Fellow, Hangzhou Dianzi University

Dr. Xu received his B.S. from Zhejiang University of Technology in 2018 and his Ph.D. from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2023. He joined Hangzhou Dianzi University in the same year.

His research focuses on inorganic thin-film solar cells and flexible photovoltaic devices, with particular interest in Cu₂ZnSn(S,Se)₄ (CZTSSe) materials and devices. He has contributed to multiple world-record efficiencies for rigid CZTSSe solar cells (as reported by NREL), and achieved over 14% efficiency in flexible CZTSSe devices. His work also includes the development of dual-zone selenization for large-area uniform films (12.0% efficiency) and shingled flexible photovoltaic modules with record efficiencies. His device and module results have been included in the Solar Cell Efficiency Tables.

Dr. Xu has published in leading journals including Nature Energy, Nature Communications, Joule, and Advanced Energy Materials. He is the recipient of the NSFC Youth Program (Category C) and the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund.
